August 2006 Meeting

When: Thursday, August 3, 2006 — 7pm-9pm
Where: Consulate General of Canada

Topic: Object Oriented Design Theory

This month, Eric Stewart begins a two-part series dedicated to object oriented programming. We’ll cover the ideologies behind programming with objects and the advantages you gain over procedural programming. If you don’t know the meaning of words like encapsulation, inheritance, abstraction, and polymorphism, then this is the presentation for you!

We will also introduce break-out discussion groups this month on a variety of topics. Discussion groups begin promptly at 7pm, so come early to take part in a discussion that interests you!

Our meeting takes place at the Consulate General of Canada at 100 Colony Square in Midtown Atlanta (at the corner of Peachtree and 14th Streets). Click here for directions. You will need to see the concierge in order to gain access to the 17th floor.

  1. I attended the August meeting and
enjoyed it. I have not seen any updates on the website associated with the meeting nor are there any notifications about the next scheduled meeting.
I would like to know if there have been any changes for the Sepember meeting normally scheduled for the first Thursday of the month?

  2. No changes made. Our meetings will always be on the first Thursday of the month. I’m still trying to nail down some details. I try to confirm everything and send out an update to everyone at least 2 weeks prior to our meetings, so expect to hear something from me by August 24th.
