January 2006 Meeting

When: Thursday, January 5, 2006 — 7pm-9pm
Where: New Horizons

Topic: PHP Year In Review

The January meeting takes a two-fold approach to start off the New Year. Leading off the meeting, Ben Ramsey will present a PHP “Year In Review” that will take a look at news and developments in the PHP community throughout the year 2005.

After the “Year In Review,” we will have a presentation of Tips & Tricks. There will be no particular theme, and everyone is invited to present a tip/trick. Your presentation need not be long or formal (no slides needed), and we’ll provide a computer/projector/white board.

A tip and/or trick can be anything that you’ve found particularly helpful over the course of your years as a programmer. It could be a particular way of doing things, a helpful and possibly often overlooked function, or a specific configuration you’ve found works well. Please limit your tip/trick to something involving *AMP (Windows/Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) technologies (any database is welcome, not only MySQL).

If you have any questions about your tip/trick or you want to run it by me first, please send an e-mail to ben [at] atlphp.org.

In the meantime, so that we can plan our meeting, please leave a comment below if you plan to present your tip or trick at the meeting.

The meeting will take place at the usual location at New Horizons Learning Center in Tucker, GA, and those who wish to grab pizza and drinks afterwards are encouraged to make their way to the Mellow Mushroom following the meeting.

Come expecting great networking opportunities and chances to learn what other PHP developers are doing in the Atlanta area!
