Presentation: Taking The Helm: Diving Into Kubernetes For LAMP Stacks

By themselves, containers offer benefits for making sure a development environment represents a production environment, but that doesn’t necessarily translate back into having a replicable production environment that can scale up. That’s where container orchestration technology shines, such as the open-source Kubernetes.

In today’s talk, we’ll be doing an overview of Kubernetes, why it may be a good solution for your use-case (or not), and we’ll go through the steps to spin up a Kubernetes cluster that’d be an alternative to a typical LAMP setup!

About Chris: Chris has spent around 7 years as a full stack software engineer, starting in a Java stack and transitioning to PHP and the LAMP stack in 2012. He’s worked in a variety of industries including marketing, telecommunications, gaming, and construction. Chris works for OxBlue as a Lead LAMP Software Engineer. You can follow Chris on Twitter at @chrisforrence (http://twitter.com/chrisforrence).

New Meeting Feature: Open Spaces! We’re going to continue with a new discussion format among attendees. Please come with some questions or discussion topics in mind. The group will vote on suggestions and we’ll cover things, based on interest, in a rotating panel style. Come share your expertise!
